Hornets' Blank Franklin County

Saturday, on the field at St. Francis Borgia High School in Washington MO, the heat was intense as a veteran Hornets/United side took on a largely inexperienced Franklin County Club and was able to prevail by the score of 41-0. It was a tough fought match with both sides capitalizing on the others mistakes and drive the ball deep into opposing territory, but in the end, the Hornets were able to capitalize upon Franklin County's lack of experience and force the issue.  While at times it wasn't pretty, ultimately it was a win in the season opener against a team that will only get tougher as the season progresses.

Bombers Lose a Legend

The Bombers lost a legend this week as Dr. Sterling Hayden passed away Wednesday, August 25th.  We ask that all of our friends, family and supporters keep Sterling and his family in their thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.  There will be a Memorial Visitation held at Hutchens Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant, on Friday, August 27 from 4-8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Church, 2650 Parker Rd., Florissant, on Saturday, August 28 at 11 a.m.

Many of us plan on attending the visitation this Friday at around 6:00 PM.  Please join us in paying our respects to Sterling and his family.

Bombers Season Opener

Come out to support the St. Louis Bombers as they open their Fall 2010 season this Saturday, August 28th.  The match will be between the Bomber B-side, the Hornets, who take on the Franklin County Rugby Club.  Meet us at the St. Francis Borgia campus in Washington, MO, with a kickoff at 6:00 PM.

This is the opening frame and a cup match for the Division III schedule.  The Bombers would like to invite all their friends, family and supporters to make the short trip to Washington, to watch us take on Franklin County Rugby in what shall be the beginning of an exciting year.
