The Bomber’s DII side opened up their season on September 15th with a little road trip down to Memphis to take on the Memphis Blues. The Bomber’s traveled down light with only 3 subs but that didn’t slow down the Bomber’s as they went onto defeat Memphis 79-12.
The Bomber’s defense kept Memphis out of the try zone for the first half of the game, 24-0. The second half started off with a quick score from Tyler Masters with some well-placed kicks. Tim Brown controlled the offense with quick ball out to the backs and had a try himself. The rest of the tries were handled by Chris ‘Vinnie’ Wroughton, Mark Menne(2), Brian Saak (2), Tyler Masters(3), Sean McDonald(2), Chris Schelerth, and Brett Moeller. Conversions were kicked by Mark Menne(3), Tyler Masters(2), and James Sills(1). Man of the match went to Sean McDonald so his work on both offense and defense and being in the right spot at the right time. Check out photos from the match here.
Next week both sides travel to Kansas City to take on the KC Blues.
