Spring has Sprung

Last weekend both Bomber sides had their first match of the spring season. A mixed side played under the Friday night lights against Lindenwood’s second side and the DIII side against Missouri S&T on Saturday.

Friday night was a chance for the Bombers to see players in different positions, new players, and the overall play of the game.

For the first 20 minutes of the match it was to see who could keep hold the ball the longest. The Bombers were able to control the ball well with a few line breaks and good structure getting close and closer to the try line but Lindenwood’s quick defense would keep them out. It wasn’t until Lindenwood quick ball movement and speed that would lead to the first try of the match.

Both teams played hard until the end with some big hits but Lindenwood would end up victorious with a 43-5 win.

The Bomber’s were first to score with a try from Tony Luzecky and conversion made by Eric Davidson putting the Bomber’s up 7-0.

Missouri S&T had some hard runners but struggled to keep control of the ball to which the Bombers took advantage of.

The Bombers would put up 50 points by halftime with tries from Eric Hinson, Colin Fitzhenry and Scott Hanify.

The Bombers would win with the final score 57-7 over Missouri S&T.

A big thank you to Lindenwood University for hosting the match Friday night at their stadium and congrats to their thrilling win over Arkansas State on Saturday night. Also a big thanks to the Missouri S&T side for making the trip up and play.
