Lindenwood last game and Fall recap

Nov. 19th the Bombers White side played a friendly game against Lindenwood B with the result 29-17 Bombers win.

But on a bigger note it was the last game played this year from some Great High School players. In the spring they return to their teams to compete in the MRFU High School League. The Bombers thank these guys for playing with us this Fall and making such a huge impact on the field. We hope to be on the sidelines watching your games in the Spring. Welcome to the Bomber Family.

Thank You to the Following: Danny Dunn DeSmet rugby club, Mike Kellet DeSmet rugby club, Dyllan Latham Parkway rugby club, Kevin Dear Parkay rugby club and Jordon Sebacher Alton-Marquette.

The Bombers Black Side went 6-1 for the Fall. The only loss to Kansas City Blues.

The Bombers White side went 5-7 . The record does not speak about the way the boys played. No league match loss was greater than 7 points. We look for great things this spring from the guys as they get used to playing together.

Thank You to all the Old Boys that came out and supported the Currents. It shows all the other teams in St. Louis why we are The Premier Rugby Club in St. Louis.

SMRFC hard fought Game

On Sunday the White side took on 1st place SMRFC.  This was a hard hitting battle. Both sides had multiple injuries due to the collisions and tackles. The Boys scored first whenVeteran John Watson picked the ball out of a ruck at the 10 meter and  punched in for the first try of the game at the 20 min mark. The conversion kick was good. In the early minutes of the second half SMRFC did the same, took the ball off the ruck and after a couple phases punched it in under the posts, they also made the conversion. The game would stay this way for 30 minutes. Both teams displayed great defense and it was a battle back and forth. The game appeared to be over with a tie according to multiple watches, but the referee let it go on for another 10 minutes. With the extra time  SMRFC was able to punch the game winner in and the Ref blew the whistle. Hats off to our boys and the stellar defence and heart shown. SMRFC also did a great job on stopping our boys at the Try line in the last 10 minutes of regular time.

October 29th Team is 1-1

The Black Side played Tulsa Saturday at Creve Coeur and it turned into a battle. Both sides brought their A-Games. It was a see saw battle with the Boys ahead and then Tulsa coming back and pulling ahead. But in the end the Boys in Black got the win and bonus point. Final was 30-29 Bombers

The White side travelled to Cape to take on the Scorpions. The team played tough but could not pull out the win. End result was Scorpions 31-25. The good thing is we got 2 points out of it and remain 2nd in the standings.

October 22nd Big Wins for both sides.

Bombers Black  take on the Ramblers at 1pm and right after the Bombers White take on the Hornets at 3pm. The Mopes (Bomber Alumni) will have a tent, food and beer on the sidelines. So plan on a great day of Rugby and camaraderie with some of the Bomber Legends.

The Bomber Black side are still undefeated this Fall, while the White side hope to get back to their winning ways and stay in Play-off contention.

As a follow up. Both teams won, Bombers Black beat the Ramblers 40-3 and the White side won 26-10. It was a great day at the Park with the Old Boys.  Big thanks to all the Mopes for hosting the players and showing the other St. Louis teams that the Bombers truly do have the best Alumni in the city.
